National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a uniformed youth organization that operates in educational institutions, aiming to instill discipline, leadership, and a sense of civic responsibility among young people. The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces. Nirmala college NCC subunit established on 1956 is the No.1 company of 18(K) Battalion NCC, Muvattupuzha which comes under Kottayam group is led by ANO Lieutenant Dr.Albish K Paul. Since its inception, cadets are participating in various national and centrally organized camps. The Three year NCC training helps the students to become sincere and responsible human beings having an enthusiastic mind to serve the country. NCC motivates and provides immense opportunity for the youth to take up a career in Indian Armed Forces. Participation in the NCC is seen as a valuable addition to a student's education, providing not only physical fitness but also fostering qualities that contribute to the overall development of their personality.
