The Department of Computer Science is the heir to a princely heritage of academic excellence. Master of Computer Applications course was officially inaugurated in November 2002 by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. George Punnakkottil, Bishop of Kothamangalam. This programme is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and is affiliated to M.G. University, Kottayam. The BCA programme started in the Academic Year 2003-04 with a batch strength of 60 students.

The BCA programme started in the Academic Year 2003-04 with a batch strength of 60 students. At present BCA has a strength of 70 students.

In the academic year 2014-15, MCA (Lateral), a Two Year Programme with batch strength of 60 students commenced. The 3 Year MCA Programme with the strength of 60 students got converted to 2 Year Programme in the academic year 2020-21 resulting in a total strength of 120 students in the MCA Regular programme.

By the year 2020, 16 MCA Batches, 15 BCA batches and 5 MCA (Lateral) batches passed out with flying colours.

The faculty blends superbly the experience and expertise of luminaries with the drive, dynamism and innovation of youngsters, the depth and width of knowledge of academicians and the practical wisdom of professional managers.
