MATHEMATICS ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION

The Mathematics Association Inauguration held on 19th September 2023 at the Audio Visual Hall at 11:00 AM We were honored to have Dr. KV Alice, esteemed former HOD of Mathematics at Newman College, Thodupuzha, as our chief guest. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field added immense value to the occasion. Dr. Alice delivered an enlightening lecture on “Recent Trends in Mathematics,” shedding light on the dynamic advancements shaping the discipline in the contemporary world.

Following the thought-provoking lecture, the program transitioned into a vibrant showcase of cultural activities by our talented students in the main auditorium. The event culminated at 5:00 PM, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. The Mathematics Association Inauguration not only celebrated the spirit of mathematical inquiry and exploration but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among students and faculty.

 

NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY CELEBRATIONS

We celebrate National Mathematics Day on 21st December 2023. In association with this special occasion, we have curated an array of exciting activities guaranteed to ignite our passion for mathematics.

Sudoku: Test the logical prowess with Sudoku, the addictive number puzzle that promises hours of brain-teasing fun  to strategize, analyze, and solve the way through various difficulty levels, showcasing the mastery of numerical patterns and logic.

The first prize was to Miss Anu A J of  B.Com Tax Model III and second prize to Sreeranjini K of third year BSc Physics.

Tic Tac Trivia: Join us for a lively game of Tic Tac Trivia, where mathematics meets general knowledge. Engage in friendly competition as you answer trivia questions, strategically placing your markers to claim victory. Let your intellect shine as you tackle an array of intriguing challenges.

The first prize was to Mr. Aby Manoj of second year BSc Physics and second prize to Abel Mathew of first year BSc physics model II

Treasure Hunt: Embark on an exhilarating treasure hunt that will take you on a journey of discovery across the campus. Follow the clues, crack the codes, and unravel the mysteries hidden within. Sharpen the problem-solving skills and collaborate with teammates to uncover the ultimate prize.

The first prize was to Miss. Shaffna Ali and Beema Russel of third year BSc Chemistry and second prize  to Goutham Krishna G and Shahana Shams of third year BSc Chemistry.

ONAM CELEBRATIONS

On August 25, 2023, our department marked Onam with jubilation and fervor. Amidst the vibrant floral decorations and traditional attire, our team emerged triumphant in the Onam competitions. And clinched the prestigious first prize in Thiruvathira, and second prize in the Group Song competition, spreading joy and harmony. It was a moment of pride and celebration, symbolizing not just our cultural heritage but also our collective spirit as a department

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

On December 22, 2023, the spirit of Christmas enveloped our community in warmth and joy. Amidst twinkling lights and festive decorations, our team shone brightly in the Christmas celebrations. We were honored to secure the first prize in the Carol Song competition, enchanting the audience with our melodious voices and heartfelt rendition of classic carols. Additionally, our creativity and enthusiasm were recognized as we clinched the second prize in the Christmas rally, spreading cheer and goodwill throughout the event. It was a moment of unity and triumph, symbolizing the true essence of the holiday season – love, togetherness, and celebration.

 

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

On December 16, 2023, the 2nd-year BSc Mathematics students embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to the Wayanad Tea Factory, accompanied by our esteemed faculty members Mrs. Tess Jose, Mr. Pratheesh Mathew, and Mrs. Bincy Mathai. The excursion promised to offer invaluable insights into the practical applications of mathematical concepts within the realm of tea production and processing.
